MOROCCO GOLF Info
Golf is very popular in Morocco, partly because King Hassan II was an internationally ranked
practitioner of the game so that golf has found its roots and culture in this country where nature
presents majestic spectacle. More than 200 holes are already open to golfers and it is planned to
triple in the coming years.
Morocco found its root and its culture with more than 200 holes to delight the dedicated player At Marrakesh,
the fairways are laid out on a plateau dominated by the eternal snows of the Atlas mountains, snake their
way between the cypress and pine trees on the hills at Tangier, stand surrounded by a forest of century-old
oaks at Rabat and by the joyful colours of the heather, tamarisk and gorse at Cabo Negro, follow the dunes
at Agadir and even extend to the heart of the imperial city of Meknes where they form, part of the
Royal Palace park
Club: The Palmeraie Golf Club.
Course: The Palmeraie Golf Club.
18 holes, 6796 yards, Par72
When the international master Robert Trent Jones was presented with a perpetually limpid sky, the celebrated
Palmeraie (Palm Grove) at Marrakech, the majestic Atlas mountains and a horizon dotted with white medians,
he created this 18 hole masterpiece. He designed a spacious valley, its broad form broken by thousands of
palm trees and embellished with seven lakes. Numerous sand hazards add the pearly whiteness of the
Atlantic beaches to this lush scene, with the ochre walls and green tiles of the magnificent Moorish
styled club house forming a striking centre piece to the whole design.
Club: The Royal Golf Club
Course: The Royal Golf Club Marrakesh
18 holes, 6780 yards, Par72
Built in the 20's by the pasha of Marrakesh, the Royal Golf Club is one of the longest-established in Morocco.
Constantly renovated and improved, it is also one of His Majesty King Hassan ll's favourite courses.
With good reason. How magical for a golfer to play on this par 72 course at the feet of the
snow-covered Atlas mountains! And what a delight to stride the length of its 6,200 metres where grow such
a profusion of cypress, eucalyptus, palm, olive, orange and apricot trees!
But don't let the extreme beauty of the course put you off your game. Be doubly vigilant at hole number 15.
The green is hidden behind two grassy mounds separated by a bunker.
Plus an additional hazard: the angles are
blocked by high palm trees.
Once the game is over, seasoned players often remember some of the eminent men who have played on
this world-famous course; men like Winston Churchill, David Lloyd George and Ike Eisenhower
Club: Amelkis Golf Club
Course: Amelkis Golf Course
18 holes, 7250 yards, Par72
Moroccan courses are renowned for their visual appeal but Amelkis may be the most eye-catching of all perhaps
the most exciting to play. It is a big site with big targets, seductively mounded, heavily bunkered and with
large greens and expansive, undulating fairways; to say nothing of the lakes, fountains and the unique
waste bunkers.
These waste bunkers were created from crushed rock whose colour complements the land scape.
The greens are also large.
They may be relatively easy to find, but unless you can arrow a long iron shot well, four putts
will not be unusual.
Be too far adrift and you will need divine guidance with the putter!
Club: The Dunes Golf Club
Course: : The Dunes Golf Club - The Eucalyptus - Blue course
9 holes, 3471 yards, Par36
Ideal for getting your hand in, but be careful! Hole number 8 is a real gem.
Its green suddenly comes into view on the top of a hill surrounded by bunkers.
Then, once the effort has been made, comes the reward; a magnificent, uninterrupted view of Inezgane.
Club: The Dunes Golf Club
Course: : The Dunes Golf Club - The Wadi - Yellow course
9 holes, 3336 yards, Par36
Needs skill. Hole number three, par 5, inspires fear and respect.
Its narrow green is guarded by a lake, an embankment, a bunker and a deep depression.
Club: The Dunes Golf Club
Course: : The Dunes Golf Club - The Tamarisk - Red course
9 holes, 3504 yards, Par36
You will need all your clubs and all your best strokes.
The ingredients; two lakes, fairways that appear reasonably calm and a moderately-sized eucalyptus wood.
The last hole is imposing: a narrow par 5 that climbs uphill through the trees before gently sloping
down to the green and the club house.
Club: Golf du Soleil
Course: : Golf du Soleil
9 holes, Par36
Set in over 200 acres three beautiful 9 hole courses combining to form the 18 hole course of your choice.

Club: The Royal Golf Club
Course: : The Royal Golf Club - Agadir
9 holes, 3930 yards, Par36
With fairways perfumed by pines, eucalyptus and mimosa, fragrances that blend with the tang of the nearby ocean ...
It is a delightful course, but you must beware of the trees and the very dense undergrowth. The greens are broad,
well defended b deep bunkers and groups of palm trees that close ofl the angles. After the game,
players can meet and discuss their round in the panoramic club house, practically buried in a cascade
of bougainvillaea
Club: El Jadida Royal Golf Club
Course: : El Jadida Royal Golf Club
18 holes, Par72
The invigorating fragrance of pine and eucalyptus carried on the sea air .....
A falcon flying over the bunker on hole number 8 to slip away into the blue of the sky... At the 12th,
the still waters of a lake mirror the clouds... On the 14th, magnificent araucarias, standing like rows
of strange vegetable sculptures along the fairway... On the 17th, you can contemplate the shimmering white town
of El Jadida... On number 18, the unspoiled beaches and dunes flowering with tamarisk and mimosa...
Wherever the golfer may be on the Royal El Jadida course, Cabell B. Robinson has ensured that he will
be surrounded by stunning natural beauty.
Club: Mohammedia Royal Golf Club
Course: : Mohammedia Royal Golf Club
18 holes, Par72
A colorful bed of flowers, an imposing wooden doorway set into a white wall crowned with tiles:
Between two lines of pines and eucalyptus, the first fairway is a ceremonious procession into what looks like
Scotland, a restless sea, white dunes, pink laurel bushes, gorse and acacias, all lashed by the wind...
a wind you have to deal with throughout the whole course. The nineteenth hole is set in a delightful,
charming and flower-decked setting. Relaxing in the welcoming cool of the veranda, the experienced members
of this Moroccan club dating from the 20's never fail to advise newcomers just how they should play the
twelfth with force and the sixteenth with finesse..
Club: Anfa Royal Golf Club
Course: : Anfa Royal Golf Club
9 holes, 2960 yards, Par35

Shortness of the course is deceptive - imagination and skill required to score well.
Club: Bouznika Bay Golf Club

Club: Meknes Royal Golf Club
Course: : Meknes Royal Golf Club
9 holes, 2960 yards
Nine holes rooted deep in history; the incomparable Meknes Royal Golf Club laid out at the heart of the
imperial city of the Sultan Moulay Ismaïl, with the roofs and minarets of the medina as a background,
in a garden overflowing with flowers, plum, orange, palm, olive and apricot trees.
With ramparts in which storks nest, a fountain decorated with mosaics, sculpted windows and niches,
colonnades and crenellated towers - the golfer travels back in time as he plays his round...
Close to green number 4, a Moorish door leads into the Royal Palace ...
On the green of number 7 an exquisite staircase in white and green faience leads to the ramparts where
the club house is situated. The enchantment lasts throughout the round, and even into the night if you so desire,
for here you can play by floodlight- or even by the light of the moon.
Club: Royal Golf Course
Course: : Royal Golf Course
9 holes
The setting: countryside looking out towards the summits of the High Atlas.
The raw materials: a magnificent olive grove. The architect: Cabell B. Robinson.
He really put his heart into this project: accentuating the natural contours of the terrain to produce
the undulating fairways and the treacherously sloping greens ... playing with the great lake,
drawing it out, dividing it into three for the greater delight of the golfers,
providing the greens with a whole battery of defenses; trees, water, bunkers, giant bunkers and
monumental bunkers, the largest covering 1,200 square meters! And there is more to come:
the nine hole Royal Golf Course at Fez will very soon be twice the size! and even into the night if you so desire,
for here you can play by floodlight- or even by the light of the moon.
Club: Royal Ouarzazate Golf Course
Course: : Royal Ouarzazate Golf Course
9 holes
Make a beautiful drive and watch your ball fly up towards the eternal snow! The spectacular High Atlas can be
seen from all points on the Royal Ouarzazate Golf Course. Which is all the more remarkable when you consider
that the course stands at the very gates of the desert, where the Kasbah Trail begins. Playing here is
both incredibly captivating and complex. The broken terrain of the fairways with their slopes and
embankments wind their way between palm trees around an immense lake which also serves as a barrage on the
challenging final hole. In the Deep South, man's determination and invention make everything grow:
this nine hole oasis will soon be extended to 18.
Club: Dar Es-Salam Royal Golf Club
Course: : Dar Es-Salam Royal Golf Club - Course 3

It should be said that here, Robert Trent Jones gave full rein to his imagination,
laying out ravishing fairways among the cypress, palm, eucalyptus and cork-oak trees,
adding luxuriant ficus, banana and papyrus plants and spreading the delicate fragrances of mimosa,
rose, hyacinths, hibiscus and narcissi .
